Fishing from the beach is an awesome experience. Walk out your condo lanai and head in front of either building 1 or 4. Swimmers and sun bathers gather in front of buildings 2 and 3, making the outer two areas perfect for a quiet fishing experience.
The Nix family vacationed in 1c1. They were fishing under a full moon last night until midnight, and they reported it was beautiful!
Seeing Melissa and Darren’s wedding photos on the September 1st blog post, brought back a lot of beautiful memories. Approximately 30 guests (including their pastor) arrived to celebrate this beautiful occasion on the beach. The bride and groom were so relaxed even when a rain storm soaked the island most of the day. But guess what? At 5:00 p.m. the sky opened up to a beautiful, warm sunny evening–just in time to set up the boardwalk to the beach for the processional.
Andy has shared a few of his photos from this special day, including one from the lovely reception held afterward in the Grove.
We will be glad to help you plan your perfect Sanibel wedding on the beach at Ocean’s Reach!
The Jardines sent these fantastic pictures of dolphins that they took right off shore from Ocean’s Reach while riding on the Sanibel Thriller during their early August stay this year.
Gillian and Jim Jardine have been coming for several years every August to Oceans Reach all the way from Scotland! They love the beach, pool, bicycling, sightseeing and dining at the many great restaurants on Sanibel. They are already planning to return in August 2010!
Everyone loves weddings and on August 6, 2009, Ocean’s Reach was the site of the Marchant/Kramer Wedding. The lovely bride has allowed us to post some of their favorite shots taken on the beach. She writes, I can’t recall if I sent you any photos of the wedding but thought I’d share a few of Frank Simonetti’s photos. Thanks again for all your help with the planning. Everyone had a great time and we are still talking about when we can all get back there!

Lots of hippies traveled back in time to the Sanibel Grill last Saturday to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Woodstock concert.
Sanibel Grill offers casual fare in the sports side of the Timbers restaurant, which is highly rated on the island by Ocean’s Reach guests. Check out our restaurant poll.
While catching bait with my cast net I discovered I had a new friend. This Egret stayed with me most of the day. It would sit on the net when not in use and wait for his next opportunity for me to feed it with the bait I didn’t want. When not guarding the net it would sit on my tackle box.
