Sanibel Captiva Community Bank has gone solar!

The bank recently announced that it has installed solar electricity systems at its two largest branch locations: Main Office at 2475 Library Way on Sanibel and McGregor Branch at 15975 McGregor Blvd. in Fort Myers.

The solar electricity systems, also known as solar photovoltaic systems, work in parallel with utility electricity to provide power in a seamless manner to the bank. The main office’s system contains 85 solar modules and McGregor branch’s system contains 46 solar modules, rated at 260 watts each. The two systems’ electricity production is projected at nearly 50,000 kilowatt-hours annually.

“We began exploring solar energy options as part of the SanCap Solar Connect Solarize initiative for our main office on Sanibel,” said Craig Albert, president and CEO of Sanibel Captiva Community Bank. “We strive to be a responsible corporate neighbor and are committed to practicing sustainable conservation practices and reducing our carbon footprint.”

Sanibel Captiva Community Bank’s professionals provide customized individual and business banking services and specialize in residential loans. The bank provides free personal and business checking, top-yielding money market accounts, safe deposit boxes, electronic statements and a mobile banking app, as well as online and drive-thru banking.
