It’s a Purple Martin Festival
There is to be a Purple Martin Festival Friday night, July 31st! Tonight!! It will be held at the Bar Association Restaurant in downtown Fort Myers. This is a celebration in honor of the 30,000 plus Purple Martins who are roosting in the four trees along Edison Street near the restaurant. Be sure and pencil it in for a fun time this evening and don’t forget to wear some purple in their honor!

Any fan of purple martins is a friend of mine. Good for you in Ft.Myers bringing attention to PuMa. Purple martin season is officially over.

I just found out about this. Have made plans for the weekend but am thinking about cancelling them and going.
I’m so happy Fort Myers appreciates what a treasure these birds are and promotes events like this one.
