Don is a contest winner at Ocean’s Reach and a brilliant photographer that shares some tips that are real gems. The wildlife photography in Southwest Florida and Sanibel Island is fabulous with over 250 species of birds for starters. January is birding month at Ocean’s Reach on Sanibel Island.

The shelling on Sanibel Island is fantastic right in front of Ocean’s Reach. Find gems like junonia or lion’s paw shells plus hundreds of other varieties.

Jill and Molly were lucky to come upon an Octopus right on the beach in front of Ocean’s Reach resort. Check out this baby Octopus video taken by them!

We have a group of friends that met at Ocean’s Reach and continue to stay here every year in May. They fish together every day. The 45″ fish shown on the video was caught by Doug Popoloski from New Hampshire. It was the largest Snook that has been caught and recorded at Ocean’s Reach. Don’t forget Sanibel fishing at Ocean’s Reach is the best!!

Please note that the fish was released back into the gulf to enjoy another day.

Beginning last summer, Ocean’s Reach on Sanibel, began a wonderful butterfly garden in the Grove area. It is as you can see, now blooming and attracting the butterflies. This is the best!!! Thanks to Andy for the wonderful video excursion.
