Great job on the website! I can't wait to see more information up here. Keep up the great work, and I'll keep stopping by to check things out...

We have tried other vacation locations found over the internet. Usually we discovered that the images were deceptive or at best dissappointing, or costs hidden, etc. Our stay at Ocean's Reach was the first time that we found a location that met or exceeded the descriptions on the website.

Office staffers were very helpful with suggestions, answering questions or fixing small problems.

The wi-fi access was fast and problem free, but we found that the internet was not as beckoning as what lay in front of us every day.

Thank you for a wonderful week.

Reach Team...great to see your embracing the internet, the website is shaping up nicely and I'll bet this blog will become very popular. I signed up for the newsletter, can't wait to see it. Oceans Reach looks wonderful! Your hard work really shows. Jim

Hi all,
I love sanibel but read elsewhere bad reviews of the beach with lots of weed and nasty smells caused (it said) by sugar refining in mid state. Has anybody noticed any problems.

We had a wonderful 12 days at Ocean's Reach in July. The condo was very nice. The beach was great, as usual! The office staff is so helpful and friendly. Thank you, Sue Austin

WE HAVE ENJOYED OCEANSREACH SEVERAL YEARS BUT IT SEEMS THE RATES HAVE INCREASED AND IS NOW POSSIBLY OUT OF OUR REACH DUE TO THE FACT THAT MY HUSBAND WAS OFF WORK FOR THE FIRST 6 MONTHS OF THIS YEAR. OUR DATES TO ARRIVE ARE FLEXIBLE, SOOOO...IF THE THERE ARE ANY "BARGAINS OUT THERE FOR A DIRECTOR OF NURSES AND A UNION MAN, PLEASE MAKE US AN OFFER. WE LOVE THIS PLACE AND HAVE ONLY STAYED ELSEWHERE WHEN THEY CLOSED FOR REMODELING AFTER CHARLEY. THANK YOU!!!KAREN JESSEE.KJESSEE@INSIGHTBB.COM

Hi Jessee,
Thanks for considering Ocean's Reach for your next beach vacation and thank you for the nice comments.
First of all, Ocean's Reach wants you and your husband back! And we have a lot to offer you! So give us a call and give us a chance.
Along with our remarkable property transformation following Hurricane Charley (8/13/04), we offered many price incentives to welcome our guests back. Our winter rates remained the same (and will through the '08 season)and our off-season one bedroom rates dropped. We also added a season following our summer season which offers our lowest rates of the year. Finally, a big plus is that we offer mid week arrival and departures and a minimum stay of less than seven days (non-winter only).
So give us a chance to offer you more for less! Our phone # is 800-336-6722.
Thank you! Dru

Our e-newsletter is just about ready to go in the mail, so to speak. It's a first for Ocean's Reach so we're nervous, excited and most interested in your feedback. Please let us know what features you would like us to include in our bi-monthly issues. We hope it will be a great way for us to stay in touch during the "off-season" when you are away from Ocean's Reach. We will keep you informed with updates from Ocean's Reach, Sanibel Island and the surrounding area and help you to get to know us a little better with great photos, stories, news, vacation tips and more. Visited for the first time late September and really enjoyed the peace and quiet of your beautiful location. Tried once before to visit but Charley had other plans so we didn't know what we had been missing.
Definitely hope to stay again and can vouch for your being very accomodating as regards off season rates.
Thanks again for everything

We first stayed at Ocean's Reach in 1985. You will never find nicer accommodations or a more helpful staff. It broke our hearts when Charley devastated our dream place, but the new renovations are beautiful! We are still so very sorry for the owner's losses. We came back as soon as you were open again. We stayed for 2 weeks in June 2007 for the first time, and now we're hooked! We are watching airfares, and hope to be back in May or June. You can't lose at Ocean's Reach...it is truly a Paradise! For those of you looking for up-to-date information on Sanibel and Captiva, you need to check out BestofSanibelCaptiva.com and their message board. I found Ocean's Reach through their recommendation and couldn't be happier! I was concerned about the condition of the beaches and had several questions about the islands themselves. The information and help I received before my trip was invaluable

We vacationed in Sanibel, aka Paradise, in December and our stay was, once again, at Ocean's Reach, the place to be. In ten days we saw about 62 species of birds. The lone American Crocodile in Ding Darling was seen on three different days; how cool is that! Waited about 17 years to see her up close! We had wonderful breakfasts at the Lighthouse Cafe (on Periwinkle Way). The weather was unseasonably and wonderfully warm resulting in fabulous sunsets; the beach was beautiful and inviting. Kudos on the website; it's getting better and better. Looking forward to the photos of the outdoor Holiday decorations.

Hi Rita,
Heh--thanks for your vacation comments. It's always so fun to hear from our guests post-trip.
I couldn't agree with you more about your December getaway.
For all of you who think Christmas and Hanukah requires cold weather and falling snowflakes, think again.
Sanibel was absolutely supreme in December. Our holiday guests have the best of two worlds--the sandy beach 19 steps away on the one side and the spectacular holiday choirs and musicals and light show up and down Periwinkle Way on the other side.
Sanibel was very cool!!! (for those who want snow)
Rita has some wonderful night time photos of the Christmas lights at Ocean's Reach which will be posted soon.
For all of you up north, we are celebrating a cold spell in the mid 60's. We don't mind as the sun is out, the waves are brushing ashore and tomorrow will be sunny and 75.
